In preparation of the arrival of Focolare president, Margaret Karram, and co-president, Jesús Morán, members of the Focolare community from across Oceania have been travelling to the island of Fiji. The group included members from the islands of Kiribati, and Wallis and Futuna, as well as Noumea, Pouébo and Rotuma in New Caledonia. The recent arrivals gathered this morning in Suva with some of the Fijian Focolare community. The morning started with a prayer and song, before the group introduced themselves and shared their experiences of living the Focolare spirituality back home.
The group were joined by Yob Doronilla and Cecilia Capizzi who have responsibility for looking after the Focolare community across the Oceania region. “It was a profound start” said Yob, who described the preparation event as one of discovering “Jesus prayer ‘That all may be one’”. Margaret and Jesús will arrive in Fiji tomorrow.
